President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his deep concern and condemnation following the discovery of a tenth woman’s body in the Ekurhuleni area, describing the ongoing violence as a national crisis.

It is a shame on the men of South Africa that we continue to see such brutality against women, and it is time for us to take collective responsibility to end this scourge.

The President’s remarks come as police continue their investigations into the string of murders that have plagued the East Rand, with the latest victim discovered in the Tembisa township. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is being treated with the highest priority, with specialized units deployed to track down those responsible for these heinous acts.

Ramaphosa reiterated his commitment to ensuring that law enforcement agencies leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice for the victims and their families. He called upon the public to assist the police by providing any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

The discovery of the tenth body has sparked widespread outrage across the country, with civil society organizations and political leaders demanding more robust action to address the systemic issue of gender-based violence in South Africa.
