EFF hits back at AfriForum over Malema’s crimen injuria prosecution

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have responded to the news that their leader, Julius Malema, is set to face criminal prosecution for crimen injuria following an initiative by AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit.

The EFF maintains that these legal actions are part of a broader campaign by AfriForum to harass and intimidate the party’s leadership through the judicial system.

The prosecution relates to allegations that Malema falsely accused a school principal of rape, a claim that AfriForum pursued after the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) initially declined to prosecute. The EFF has characterized the move as a politically motivated attempt to silence their advocacy.
