UK-Iranian dual national arrested over RAF Fairford incident, police say
A UK-Iranian dual national has been arrested following an incident at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to the airbase on Tuesday evening after reports of a security breach.
The individual remains in custody and is being questioned by counter-terrorism officers,
a spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police stated.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the base, which is used by the US Air Force, was placed on lockdown for several hours while a search was conducted. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the breach, and authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry continues.
