The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced that it will vote against the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) motion of no confidence in National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza, stating that her removal at this stage would be premature.

The DA said that for now, it’s giving Didiza the benefit of the doubt.

Although the DA has previously expressed criticism regarding the Speaker’s handling of the court challenge brought by President Cyril Ramaphosa against his impeachment inquiry, the party maintains that it will not support the motion tabled by the EFF.
