Mokoena: Pitso has to beat Guinea and Eritrea

Former Bafana Bafana and Jomo Cosmos midfielder Teboho Mokoena believes that there is no reason to doubt Pitso Mosimane’s ability to secure victories in both Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea.

Pitso Mosimane has selected an intriguing squad, including two goalkeepers from the same club. The most notable inclusion is the return of Luther Singh to the national team, a player whom previous coach Hugo Broos had not considered over the past five years.

Bafana is scheduled to face Guinea at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg, on Saturday. Their subsequent away qualifier against Eritrea is set to take place in Egypt a few days later.

“I am satisfied with the squad selected by Pitso,” Mokoena tells KickOff.

“We should support him, as he, like any other coach, deserves more time.

“Our expectation is to secure six points; nothing less. Pitso must win both matches. I believe he will succeed in defeating both Guinea and Eritrea. We do not anticipate losses to these teams.

“We expect nothing short of six points. We trust that Pitso will obtain all six points for us,” he concluded.
