Top cops join Kempton Park murder probe as 3 suspects questioned
High-level reinforcements have stepped in as officers increase patrols and safety operations across Ekurhuleni following a series of murders in the Kempton Park area.
Three suspects have been brought in for questioning as police intensify their investigation into the deaths of nine women discovered in the region over the past two months.
The multidisciplinary team, headed by a provincial deputy commissioner, has been strengthened. It is now led by Lieutenant General Sentamule, who is part of the national leadership, and she is being assisted by General Khumalo, Head of Crime Intelligence, as well as General Mkhwanazi.
Authorities have confirmed increased police deployments in parts of Ekurhuleni, including KwaThema, Nigel, and Dawn Park, as part of a broader effort to stabilize the area and apprehend those responsible for the string of killings.
