Four people have been killed in two separate truck-related crashes in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday morning, as prolonged heavy rain continues to create hazardous driving conditions across the province.

KZN Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said poor visibility and wet, flooded roads were cited as the main causes of many accidents across the province, including on the N2 and N3.

Duma said the first fatal crash occurred on the N2 at uMkhuze, in the uMkhanyakude District, northern KZN, involving a truck and a light motor vehicle.
