Serious injuries have been reported following a multiple vehicle collision on the M19, shortly after Reservoir Hills in the direction of Pinetown.
KZN VIP Emergency Medical teams, together with multiple emergency service providers, responded to the scene.
It is believed that a vehicle lost control and collided with another vehicle that had broken down. Several additional vehicles were subsequently involved in the collision.
One person was found trapped beneath a vehicle. The injured patients were stabilised under Advanced Life Support care before being transported to nearby medical facilities for further treatment.
The circumstances leading up to the collision cannot be confirmed at this stage.
The roadway has been severely affected, with major traffic delays reported. Motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible and allow emergency personnel sufficient space to operate.
