Masuluke’s issues cleared for ‘Chiefs return’

The process to complete Oscarine Masuluke’s registration will finally be completed this week, paving way for him to become available for selection against Kaizer Chiefs this weekend.

Masuluke has been training with Polokwane City since August 20 after arriving as a free agent.

His contract at Stellenbosch FC was not renewed upon its expiry at the end of June.

Polokwane turned to Masuluke following the series of events relating to their goalkeeping department.

Kenyan shot-stopper Brian Bwire left after turning down the club’s proposal for an extension and has since rejoined Tusker FC.

The Limpopo club then turned to Lindokuhle Mathebula, who played through most of the second half of last term and the start of this campaign.

He, however, got injured earlier in the season, leaving Ayanda Ngwenya and Mashudu Makhavhu as the two keepers at the club.

Ngwenya played in the defeat to Sekhukhune United but lacks experience as was evidenced by what then happened in the 2-2 draw against Marumo Gallants when he was withdrawn at half-time.

The issues regarding the delay of his availability for selection have been related to his registration card.

There were some issues, which have since been resolved – paving the way for him to become available for selection when Polokwane host Kaizer Chiefs at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday (15:00).

The 33-year-old has previously played against the Soweto giants in seven games, with the most recent being in the Carling Knockout last season while at Stellies.
